Starting July, 2021 Alton Foodbank and Citizen’s Advice East Hampshire are starting a new initiative to support people who are referred to the foodbank. Citizens Advice have recruited an advisor dedicated to supporting foodbank clients and to help address the underlying causes of food poverty.
The service is open to all foodbank clients and is entirely voluntary. There is no requirement to use the service in order to obtain food from the foodbank.
The imitative is made possible by the support of the Trussell Trust who have provided the foodbank with a “financial inclusion grant” as part of their national strategy to “end the need for foodbanks in the UK”.
