Volunteer

Thanks but No volunteers needed right now. Check back in a month or follow us on our social media.

Volunteers are the driving force behind foodbanks. There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping Foodbanks get emergency food to people in crisis. Whatever the role, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis.

We have vacancies for volunteers.

Alton foodbank volunteer roles are:

Warehouse volunteer

Our Warehouse volunteers weigh, sort and store donated food before it’s made into parcels for clients to collect. This vital work ensures we have the right food available at all times. The work requires lifting and shifting of boxes which can be heavy.

Helping at Alton foodbank centre

At our foodbank centre in Market Square, Alton our volunteers meet clients and give out food parcels. Have an informal chat with clients over a cup of tea, to discuss their situation and signpost to further support.

Transport Team

Some of our volunteers help in an additional way to move crates from our Warehouse to the Centre.  The crates are transported each week, for the upcoming week’s clients.  Each volunteer helps once a month in this role.  You don’t necessarily need a big car, but it helps!
