The Alton Foodbank believes that no one should rely on a foodbank to feed their family. As part of the Trussell Trust we want to do our part in campaigning for a society where people do not need a foodbank to meet their most basic needs. Thanks to the generosity of local people, churches and businesses the foodbank has sufficient financial reserves to continue to operate throughout 2021 and beyond. We do not want to accept donations that will then sit in our bank and are therefore, asking that people support local charities that help address the underlying causes of food poverty.
In particular we would like to support young families and young people who have been particularly hard hit by the pandemic. We are asking if people would consider supporting Bushy Leaze Children’s and Family Centre or the Kings Arms (Youth provision) Alton with their giving. We will continue to welcome donations of food.
The Foodbank would like to thank everyone for their kind and generous support during the past year.
