Alton foodbank partners with the fuelbank foundation

4th November 2021

Those families on pre-paid utility meters are most at risk of being without heating and lighting if they cannot afford to top up their meter. Given the recent rise in gas and electricity prices, more families are at risk of being without power. To address the situation, Alton foodbank has just become a partner of the fuelbank foundation. The fuelbank foundation provides emergency grants to those on pre-paid meters most at risk. As a fuelbank foundation partner, the Alton foodbank can provide emergency grants to those individuals and families that have been referred to the foodbank.
Families who pay for their gas and electricity by direct debit are encouraged to contact their supplier if they are facing difficulties in paying their bills. A number of schemes are in place to help and support customers.
